Together with our dogs, we will go on an unforgettable hike to Antermoiasee/Lago Antermoia, a beautifully situated small mountain lake in the middle of the Rosengarten in the Dolomites.
We start our hike in Campitello in the Val di Fassa and take the shuttle bus through the romantic Durontal/Val Duron to the Micheluzzi hut. From there, we walk in about half an hour past many angry marmots standing to either side of the road, until we reach a left-hand turnoff. This leads us first along the brook and then over a wide, unfortunately slightly ragged alpine meadows to the Ciaregolepass.
Up there on the edge of a volcanic crater you will still find greenery, but also plenty of lava rocks, lava sand and lava coves. In front of us the high, snow-white walls of the Dolomites shine in the sun and nicely contrast with the black, granular sand. All of this makes ofr an interesting impression of the geological structure of the Dolomites.
The hiking trail to the Antermoiasee/Lago Antermoia now leads over an ever broadening, rocky creek bed to the pass, wfrom here we can see the Antermoia hut and the lake behind. Only 10 more minutes of descent and we reach the almost surreal blue, clear lago Antermoia. We dwell on having reached this beautiful valley, because the sight of this wild mountain landscape leaves us speechless-it's almost too good to be true. The Kesselkoge/Cima Antermoial, the highest mountain of the Rosengarten group, majestically overhangs the little lake, making it impossible to take our eyes off it. Tomorrow we will take the Antermoia climbing trail starting from the Grasleitenhütte. See you at the mountains of Catinaccio/Rosengarten!
